I hold a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry and have been practising as a Podiatrist for over 5 years, dedicating myself to improving the health and well-being of others. Alongside my professional endeavours, I've also delved into the realm of mindfulness, completing a mindfulness and mediation teacher training to further enhance my holistic approach to health care. Beyond my professional interests, I'm a passionate forager, and I lead the foraging for beginners. I love socialising and nature finding solace and joy in exploring the natural world. With a particular fondness for mushroom foraging, I spend almost every weekend immersed in the woods, seeking out nature's bounty throughout the year. This pursuit not only feeds my curiosity but also nourishes my soul, connecting me deeply with the earth and its gifts and helps me with improving my mental and physical wellbeing .
My counseling journey began in 2017 with an introduction to counseling at college, followed by certifications in COSCA Counseling Skills (2018), Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counseling (2020), and Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counseling Practice (2021). I gained over 100 practical hours through placements with Place2be and Wellbeing Scotland. As a qualified counselor/psychotherapist, I integrate elements from various modalities like CBT, REBT, and psychoeducation. This approach caters to diverse backgrounds and aims to address power dynamics in therapy. I prioritize understanding each client's uniqueness to tailor approaches accordingly. Specializing in anxiety, stress, depression, relationship issues, and more, I provide a warm, inviting space in my private practice located in my garden's summer house. Prioritizing my mental health, I enjoy outdoor activities like walking my dogs, which boost my mood, decrease stress, and enhance focus. As a member of the National & Counseling Psychotherapy Society, more about me can be found on their website or mine at https://www.lynnhogarth-counselling.co.uk.
